About
A storyteller for where we live
Sarungano is Shona for a storyteller. This is a place for stories set in Zimbabwe and across Africa, told the way serial fiction is: a chapter at a time.
What you will find here
Mostly stories of our own: new fiction, written for Sarungano, in settings readers here know. Now and then a retelling of a work that may be retold, carried into an African setting.
Only three kinds of source are ever retold: work in the public domain, work by the people running this project, and work used with the rights holder's explicit permission. Every story says on its own page what it is.
How a chapter is made
Each chapter is checked against everything its story has established, and read by a person, before it is published. The steps, in full.
